Tigger the cat showed up on our doorstep back in the late fall of 2009. We later discovered she was one of several outdoor cats from the a resort down the road. We tried sending her home but to no avail. I actually took her home a couple times but she always reappeared. She spent the winter around here and each night when we took the dog out, Tigger would come running. It was very difficult to lock up our house at night with her sitting shivering out on the back deck. When the temperatures turned very cold we fixed up a bed for her in our dog's insulated house (Gina no longer used her doghouse in the winter). Pretty soon Tigger had her own food dish in the doghouse and spent the remainder of the winter out there.

The summer of 2010 Tigger spent most of her time trying to work her way into our family. She developed a real love for our dog and follows her everywhere. She is such an affectionate animal it's hard to chase her away. Any time a door was left open she would wander into the house and explore. She never got into any trouble in the house and quickly learned to meow at the door to come and go. By the time fall rolled around she was spending more & more time in the house. Gina seemed to tolerate the idea of a cat in her house. We all had a tough time at first trying to adjust to the cat's schedule. A litter box introduced to the house cut way back on her nightly number of trips outside. Now that another fall is almost here she's had a year to adjust to us, or perhaps the other way 'round, at any rate all seems well.
