After retiring in 1992, one of my new hobbies was designing websites. It took a whole winter to scale the learning curve required to master HTML design coding and Photoshop techniques. Each new website was a learning experience. Over the years I designed over two hundred websites covering a wide range of subjects for both individual and commercial applications. A lot has changed over the last few years with new coding languages, new computer browser types and wide screen monitors, all complicating what was once a much simpler hobby. New programming languages had to be mastered. New techniques were learned to enhance Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to ensure webpages were easily interfaced with search engines to improve page ranking.
However, after a dozen or so years of designing websites and more clients than I really needed it became evident to me that it was time to re-retire. I still have several websites of my own online and that's enough to satisfy my lingering interest in the hobby.
