Tours are a great way to see a country and its people. Puerto Vallarta, Mexico offers the tourist a wide range of tours. Some tour guides will have you walking the dirt streets of a country village. There you will come face to face with the Mexico you don't see from the beach. Grim faced adults watch you from open doorways, while wide eyed children follow at your side, their tiny hands clutching trinkets for you to buy.

Transportation will vary and during your tour you may be taken to an open restaurant on a wind swept beach. They serve you one of the most delicious sea food platters you will ever experience. The courteous waiters are happy to explain their unique dish preparations while serving you Mexico's traditional drink, tequila. Just remember, too much tequila in the hot of the day will catch up to you later.

Other tours will expose you to the old city and it's tropical back drop. The wide variety of plants and trees in the wild is astounding. Puerto Vallarta has a charm of old Mexico with its cobblestone streets and unlimited handicraft shops and sidewalk cafes. Mariachi music fills the air night and day. Tours are probably the best way to see much the city, its shops, its good eating spots and some of its historical sights.
