Welcome to the Sandercott Webpages. I'm Alan and I'd like to introduce you to my family and tell you a little something of our lives in retirement and how we ended up at Francois Lake. My father, Orville (Sandy) Sandercott, established Sandy's Fishing and Camping Resort on Francois Lake back in the early 1960's. After successfully developing & operating the resort for several years he retired in 1978 and spent his remaining years enjoying Francois Lake. Following a twenty-seven year career with the Royal Canadian Navy, R.C.M.P. and Canada Post Corporation, I retired in the spring of 1992. Ann and I moved to the new home we designed and built ourselves on Francois Lake. With time on my hands I soon found myself enjoying a variety of hobbies; creative writing, woodworking, genealogy, webpage design and now building Model Airplanes. I can be reached by email at:

Ann, too, is enjoying her retirement, always busy in her garden and greenhouse or one of her many flower beds. She loves reading and shopping for the grandchildren. Photography is another of Ann's hobbies; she took most of the pictures for this website. She's taken up fishing the last few years, and she usually catches most of the fish. We have an agreement, she does the fishing, I do the rowing & cleaning; more of that exercise stuff. Ann can be reached by email at:

Gina the pup        The third member of our family here at the lake is Gina, a Siberian Husky/Golden Labrador cross. She came to us in the spring of 1999 and it was love at first lick. She enjoys walking, so Ann and I are receiving more than our fair share of exercise. Ann feels a lot better having Gina around in the summer to keep the bears away, especially when the grandchildren are visiting. Over the years Gina has enjoyed her life at the lake. The local wildlife know her and it is common for deer and foxes to approach her compound fence for a little sniffing and nose rubbing. Her age and bouts of rhumatism have moved her indoors during the winters now, but she can still sit in the windows and watch the world roll by. Gina can be reached by email at:     Gina's Website

The fourth and latest member of our family here at the lake is Tigger. She showed up on our doorstep back in the late fall of 2009. We later discovered she was one of several outdoor cats from the a resort down the road. We tried sending her home but to no avail. I actually took her home a couple times but she always reappeared. She spent the winter around here and each night when we took the dog out, Tigger would come running. It was very difficult to lock up our house at night with her sitting shivering out on the back deck. When the temperatures turned very cold we fixed up a bed for her in our dog's insulated house (Gina no longer used her doghouse in the winter). Pretty soon Tigger had her own food dish in the doghouse and spent the remainder of the winter out there. Tigger can be reached by email at:     Tigger's Website
